There's No Eyebrow She Can't Tame New York Times
Birthplace: Bombay, India.
A call to thread: My cousin did threading; I got her energy. And when I was small, I liked to dress up myself, and be beautiful. I take the school for this in India. It was a six-month course; waxing, threading, facials and henna. I perceive eyebrows enhance the whole face. With threading it looks clean, more enhanced. I like henna, too. My drawing is very meticulous.
Living in America: It was like my dream; I was very interested in going abroad, and then I moved, with my husband, almost three years ago. I had a warmth marriage, as opposed to the families making arrangements. We were living in the same colony, a group of buildings, in Bombay. He was living vis- to me. At first my family did not like this, but now they do. He’s a very honest, lovable guy. He works at a candy store on Second Avenue. My cousins are over here, but they’re in Kansas. Let’s see in the days if I want to move there.
All in the family: My daughter is the same, like me, she nicely holds the thread in her mouth. She’s seen me do it to friends at my familiar with. She’s 5.
Busiest time of the week, and year : Thursdays and Fridays are busiest because everyone wants to be beautiful for the weekend. So it’s sizeable for us too. Also in the summertime, we have more business. Because people don’t have the jackets to hide themselves, or the scarves and caps to hide under.

India, Gujarat, Kutch- Rabari People
The Rabari people are covert to outsiders; their life style seems totally different from any other tribe in the zone. Nowadays many foreigners do research on the Rabari people. The Rabari can be nomadic or semi-nomadic. Most of the outmoded, they wander with their herds. In Kutch, there are about 2500 to 3000 Rabari families; 70% of which are nomads.
The Rabari people are tribes of nomadic camel drivers who were settled in the testify of Gujarat, the west of India near Pakistan. The Rabari women outstrip at the art of the embroidery. Some of the textiles (for example the camel blanket) required 6 months of line for 2 woman. It was during their spare time that the women embroidered and passed on their cognizant of-how to the girls. Many of the pieces were made by young girls (assisted by the women in their m) for their dowry; the greater the collection of embroidered textiles in the dowry the more valuable the bride is considered. However, the textiles are a tangible expression of their unique culture.
All the items shown are authentic old artifacts of the Rabari people made for their own use.
